Senate Briefs

ASU's Student Government Association swore in new senators at its meeting Monday. After reciting the oath of office, the senators were appointed a department to represent. SGA voted three weeks ago to realign its representation from colleges to departments in order to better represent students.

Senators sworn in were Heather Lovett, Sean Apostalo, AJ Lopez III, Ross O'Dell, Jessica Bell, Jennifer Lovett, Jeremy Justen, Heather Tschirhart, Jarrett Louder, Jacob Wasonga, Claire Chomout, Gaylon Wilmeth and Sonja Blumentritt.

SGA is currently trying to fill senate positions within the following departments: Accounting, Economics and Finance, Management and Marketing, Teacher Education, Kinesiology, Art and Music, English, History, Modern Languages, Psychology, Sociology and Social Work, Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Graduate Studies and freshman representation.

Students interested in a senatorial position with SGA can contact Jeff Harris in the SGA offices from 1-5 Monday - Friday.

SGA also announced the resignation of Dr. Andrew Wallace as adviser. Wallace has been SGA adviser for the last six years. The new adviser has yet to be named.
