Senior Raymond Hickem has been selected as the Lone Star Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week.
Having already provisionally qualified for three different events at the NCAA Division II National Championships, Hickem recorded personal bests in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes.
Junior Celethia Byrd and sophomore Aisha Adams were both honored as the LSC's Female Track and Field Athletes of the Week.
Byrd, having also provisionally qualified in the 100 and 200, recorded a time of 24.10 in the 200 at the Tarleton State Invite, the fourth fastest time in ASU history.
Adams has automatically qualified in the high and triple jump, as well as a provisional mark in the 100 meter hurdles.
Adam's jump of 5'10" at the TSU invite broke the ASU record, previously set in 1985.
This weekend the teams will compete at the UTA Invitational in Arlington, Texas.
Senior thrower Culley Jo Dawson set a new school record in the discus throw at the Dr. Pepper Invitational hosted by Baylor in Waco.
Dawson, who already owns an automatic qualification in the discus throw at the National Championships, set a new school record in the event at the Invitational, surpassing the old mark of 167'10" with a throw of 169'7".
