"Our conference is growing, we are getting better," head coach Travis McCorkle said.
"But so are our opponents. We have 13 new players and 13 returning players, so this team is going through a bit of a transition right now. Once everyone is on the same page is when things will start to click."
Jennifer Bukowski started the scoring spree in the sixth minute to give the 'Belles an early lead.
"I am really pleased with the work effort and attitude from all the girls, they are learning more by the day," McCorkle said.
The other players who scored include Skylar Searles and LeShea Millard.
Each recorded their first goal on the season.
"It was really great to play at home, the fans are the best," sophomore Natalie Shannon said.
ASU had 27 shots during the game, while keeping McMurry to only a single shot that came on a free-kick in the second half.
"McMurray was a different challenge, it was good to see many of the players get good playing time," McCorkle said.
"It seems every other ASU team has played on a national level at sometime in the past ten years," said McCorkle.
"Now it's baseball and softball; it use to be football. I want our soccer team to be the next national recognized team from ASU."
The 'Belles have won three out of their last four games and are looking for more wins to propel them into a good seed for the conference tournament.
"McMurry was a game where we just wanted to learn what our team is capable of.
We worked on every aspect of the game. It was a good learning experience," Shannon said.
Next up, the 'Belles will be playing against Texas A&M International, Friday at 3 p.m.
"First things first," the coach said. "We want to put ourselves in a good position for the conference tournament. But we need to take it one day at a time."
