The United Campus Ministries invites all students for free, weekly food and Bible studies. The UCM is located on Dena Drive across from the Cavness Science Building.
The meeting times are as follows:
Tuesdays, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., light lunch and Bible study
Wednesdays, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., lunch and Food-for-Thought discussion.

The Rams for Christ are hosting a men and women's bible study over "Songs of Solomon" Monday nights starting the 8th at 7 p.m. at the Christian Campus Center on Johnson Street. Physics and Astronomy
The ASU Planetarium is holding its new show, "Venus: Earth's Fiery Twin," in the Vincent Nursing-Physical Science Building. The show will run through Nov. 20. Show times are Thursdays, 8 p.m. The show is open to the public and is free to all ASU students, faculty and staff. For more information call (325) 942-2136.
Arts
"Beyond the Wall" Poster sale will take place in the UC Lobby, Monday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Many types and sizes of posters, frames, accessories and novelties will be available.
Dr. James Womack, ASU music professor, will present a recital for horn and bassoon Tuesday, Sept. 9, in the Carr Education-Fine Arts Building Recital Hall. Dr. Ellie Jenkins from the University of West Georgia and ASU professors Dr. Timothy Bonenfant and Dr. Eleanor Elkins will join Womack for the 7:30 p.m. performance. Nursing
The fifth annual San Angelo Nursing and Advanced Practice Symposium will take place Saturday, in the Houston Harte University Center. Activities will begin at 7 a.m. in the CJ Davidson Conference Center. A complimentary breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Participants will be eligible to earn up to 7.75 contact hours in advanced pharmacotherapeutics. Registration for the symposium is $75 and can be done in person at the nursing department, second floor of the Vincent Nursing-Physical Science Building.
Featured speakers will be Dr. Robert Morton, medical director of Rolling Hills Hospital in Ada, Okla.; Dr. Carlayne Jackson, professor of neurology and otolaryngology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio; and Dr. Michael Blanc, interventional cardiologist at Community Medical Associates of San Angelo. Lectureship
The "New York Times" Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Maureen Dowd will speak on "Reflections on the Election" 7 p.m., Sept. 25, in the University Center C.J. Davidson Center. Dowd will present this as the 2008 Community Lectureship in the Humanities. The lecture is open free for the public. For more information, call the ASU Office of Development at (325) 942-2116.
West Texas Collection
ASU West Texas Collection will unveil its new display celebrating the 150th anniversary of Runnels County Thursday, Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m., on the second floor of the UC. The Friends of the Porter Henderson Library and West Texas Collection will hold their annual meeting preceding this event at 6 p.m. Both the reception and the meeting are free to the public.
