But with the upcoming season nearly approaching, the new program has grabbed its first two recruits for the 2008-09 season.
"The thing about Serena is she's still learning the game and has so much upside," future coach of the 'Belles Jason Hase said. "We're extremely excited to have her. And also, her being local makes it that much better."
Current San Angelo Central High school product Serena Sosa signed with the 'Belles in early April. Sosa placed fourth in district 3-5A and helped led the Lady Bobcats to their second consecutive district title.
"Golf came around and that's definitely what I wanted to do," Sosa said. "I'm excited to stay here and hopefully improve my golf game."
Sosa and the Lady Bobcats participated in the regional meet in Lubbock
Although Sosa was the first high school recruit, the inaugural signee for the 'Belles was transfer Brooke Jackson of Western Texas College.
Jackson finished second for WTC in the Lon Morris Tournament in Jacksonville, Texas, shooting 93-87-87 for the three-round tournament.
With the addition of the 'Belles golf program, the LSC will have eight active teams playing next season.
