During the Lone Star Conference Crossover Tournament, the 'Belles went 5-2 against the north division teams.
Day 1
In the tripleheader, the 'Belles opened up the day with a 14-6 loss to Central Oklahoma. Errors proved costly for the squad as it gave up nine runs on a school record of seven errors for the outing.
Senior Brittney Cargill hit her third home run of the season and went 3-4 of the day. Senior Kari Galm was credited the loss, only her second of the season.
After the loss, the 'Belles closed out the day with two straight wins against the Midwestern State Mustangs and the East Central Tigers.
Against the Mustangs, the 'Belles found themselves trailing 3-1 heading into the fifth inning.
Then offense struck.
The scoring rampage was sparked by sophomore Kristen Frye and senior Whitney Meeks after two costly errors by the Mustangs. After knotting the score up at three apiece, the 'Belles would go on to score three more runs in the frame to take the lead for good. The final score was 6-4.
In the final game of the day, Galm earned her 17th win of the season as the 'Belles shut out the Lady Tigers 7-0.
Day 2
The second day of tournament play brought even more success for the 'Belles. After beating Cameron University 14-8, the team rounded out the day with a 5-0 win over the No. 7 ranked Southeastern Oklahoma Storm.
Galm struck out four batters and only allowed two hits against the Storm in her ninth shutout of the season.
In the match against Cameron, the 'Belles fought their way back from a six-run deficit to beat the Aggies. The Aggies used a seven-run third inning to gain their lead, but were slowed down to only four hits after Galm pitched the final four frames of the game.
Meeks went a perfect 4-4 against the Aggies and scoring each of the four times at bat.
"You have to stay on top of your game and keep fighting and never give up," Frye said.
Day 3
In the final day of play, the 'Belles split the doubleheader losing to Northeastern State 6-5 and beating Southwestern Oklahoma 8-1 to close out tournament play.
After the first four innings of play, the Riverhawks jumped out to a 5-1 lead, using a pair of two-run home runs.
The 'Belles scored three runs in the final frame, but still fell just short to get the comeback victory.
In the final game, the 'Belles would be more prosperous in their swinging bats.
After leading 2-1, the 'Belles scored six runs in the sixth inning to put away the Bulldogs for good.
Cargill, in her first start of the season, was credited with the win and struck out four batters in the process. Senior Liena Braxton was credited with two RBIs for the game.
"Obviously, if everyone waits on their pitch, good things are going to happen," junior Macy Baker said.
