'Belles weather the storms, remain No 1 in Nation

Mother Nature did what several opponents have failed to do over the course of this softball season, keep the Rambelles from winning games. Eight games on last week's schedule resulted in only a single victory for the nation-leading Rambelles, with seven games being lost to inclement weather.

Volleyball team optimistic after spring tourneys

The 'Belle volleyball team started off its competitive spring season last week with a scrimmage against Cisco Junior College and a tournament hosted by Texas State. On Wednesday March 25, the 'Belles kicked off their spring season in the Junell Center with a scrimmage against the Wrangler Belles of Cisco Junior College.

Spring reveals 'most talent' in Carr's tenure

Junior quarterback Josh Neiswander returned to the football field for the start of spring drills, after a season-ending injury in the opening game of 2008 at Texas State. The 6-foot 2-inch, 215-pound Winsborro native was off to a great start having completed 18 of 25 passes for 213 yards and a pair of touchdowns, before breaking the tibia and fibula of his left leg with less than two minutes left in regulation.

Towne, Rams set for 'dogfight' with ACU

The 17th-ranked Rams slipped in the polls as well as the Lone Star Conference standings last week, after splitting a four game series at Central Oklahoma. "They are a good team and they played well," Coach Kevin Brooks said. "Really they should have won three out of four so I'm pretty happy with the split.
