Man responsible for present ASU location honored again

One of ASU's household names is honored once again. On Thursday, Sol Mayer's name was rededicated on the ASU campus. The Administration Building is officially the Mayer Administration Building. The second oldest building on campus now bears the name of a man who played an integral role in the college's early years.
Extra day for Thanksgiving still in works

A fall break may be in store for ASU students as soon as fall '09, according to Student Body President Ryan Mason. He said the Student Government Association has put in a proposal to extend the Thanksgiving holiday by an extra day. Instead of having the traditional Thursday and Friday off during Thanksgiving week, if the proposal is approved, students will have Wednesday through Friday off during that week.
Follett to manage campus bookstore

The competition between Validis and Follett is over. Follett will manage the University Center bookstore effective April 1. Follett is no stranger to the campus, though. Five years ago, the company was operator of the bookstore. Though Validis is currently running the bookstore, their tenure will end March 31.
ASU grad appointed grant coordinator

ASU graduate Katie Marie Plum "loves research and information," and with her recent appointment as coordinator of the university's new Office of Sponsored Projects, she will be able to put these interests to good use in assisting faculty and administrators in securing outside funding.
Journalism Day Recap
ASU alumni Daniel Devereaux and Bhavesh Patel laugh and joke with the audience during their presentation Thursday. Devereaux, Patel, Luis Rios and Satcha Pretto gave insight into their respective fields and shared their success stories with students for Journalism Day.
